The
League of Women Voters of Moscow presented a forum on “Public Transport in
Moscow and the Palouse” noon – 1 p.m.
Wednesday (March 11) in the Arts Workshop of
the 1912 Center, 412 E. Third St., Moscow.
SMART
Transit’s Dan Gray, along with Ben Aiman, gave a general overview of
public transportation in Moscow, as well as
talk about how it compares and contrasts
with other nearby transit systems. They
spoke generally about some of the
bigger picture plans for transit in Moscow.
As
the executive director, Gray oversees the operations of the fixed route and
dial-a-ride bus services in Moscow. He is a
graduate of the University of Idaho’s
Master of Public Administration program and
has worked for the past three years to
expand the reach of SMART services within
the Moscow community, modernize the
transit vehicle fleet, update SMART’s
technological infrastructure, and maintain
close relationships with a variety of
community and statewide stakeholders.
Aiman,
who will be taking over as executive director soon, started his professional
life at the UI in 2003 holding a variety of
positions related to event production,
facility management, customer relations and
marketing
.
